How do I check-in to SEVIS?

1. Log into your profile in Participant Portal.
2. Click on Housing and provide your housing information.  Please make sure that your address is correct and complete. If you are living in a hotel/motel or apartment, you must provide the room or apartment number for the address to be complete. If you fail to provide correct and complete housing address, Department of State Visa Sponsor will not be able confirm your SEVIS check- in, which will delay your SEVIS activation date.
3. Click on SEVIS Check In.

We advise waiting up to 10 business days after checking into SEVIS before applying for a Social Security Card. If you do not complete a timely SEVIS check-in or if your living information is incomplete, it will delay your ability to apply for and receive a Social Security card.
