Checking Into SEVIS

Modified on Tue, 14 Apr at 8:36 AM

Have you arrived in the USA? Has your DS-2019 program start date passed?

If you answered no to the above, you need to wait until they are both true.

If you were able to yes to both, it is now time to check into SEVIS!

1) Please log into your portal:

        AAG Portal: Login | Aag

        GV Poral: Login | geovision

2)  Click on Housing and provide your housing information.  Please make sure that your address is correct and complete. If you are living in a hotel/motel or apartment, you must provide the room or apartment number for the address to be complete. If you fail to provide correct and complete housing address, Department of State Visa Sponsor will not be able confirm your SEVIS check- in, which will delay your SEVIS activation date.

3)  Click on SEVIS Check In.

This is a mandatory step AAG requires that you provide us with your housing address and confirm your host employer address within 3 days of your DS-2019 start date.

We advise waiting up to 10 business days after checking into SEVIS before applying for a Social Security Card. If you do not complete a timely SEVIS check-in or if your living information is incomplete, it will delay your ability to apply for and receive a Social Security card.

If you have any trouble with your SEVIS check-in, please submit a support ticket.

Keep Department of State Visa Sponsor Informed! Remember to inform us of any changes to your address, email or phone number. To keep your program in good standing, you must update Department of State Visa Sponsor within 10 days of any address change. You can contact Department of State Visa Sponsor by emailing us or by calling during business hours.
